A BIT OF HISTORY:
Eurosport was established in 1994 to market sporting brands in the Maltese Islands. The first brand was the Japanese, Mizuno. Today Eurosport is the market leader in the sports retail industry in Malta holding exclusive local distributorship to a long list of world renowned brands including Adidas, Reebok, Kappa, Robe di Kappa, Skechers, Head and others.
The first Eurosport outlet was opened in Psaila Street, B’Kara. Today, this mega sports shop is spread over 2500SQM and is by far the largest sports department store in Malta and Gozo.
1998 saw the company pioneer the local sports shop franchising concept with various outlets being opened in various parts of Malta and Gozo.
During the mid 2000, Eurosport decided to open a selection of individual brand stores, converting a number of Eurosport outlets and also acquiring new ones. Today Eurosport has four Adidas Performance Brand Stores and one Adidas Originals Brand Store, the former first being opened in 2001 at Baystreet Shopping Complex, St. Julian’s.
In 2003 two important properties in the best part of Paola Square, Paola, were purchased and converted into a Eurosport store.
In 2004 a new 500SQM Eurosport outlet in St. Julian’s was opened and another in 2005 was launched in Baystreet Shopping Complex.
The Duke Shopping Mall was opened late 2008. This state of the art mall was a creation of Michele Peresso Group, from its inception to its detailed logistics and operational strategy plan. Included in this new shopping mall are six new stores for the Group, of which one will find an Adidas Brand Store, Skechers Brand Store and a Eurosport store housing the world prestigious brands Reebok, Reebokfitness (Gym equipment and accessories) Kappa and Robe di Kappa.
Following the global acquisition of Reebok by Adidas, Eurosport added Reebok to the list of brands. The first Reebok store was opened at the Eurosport flagship store in Birkirkara in the Summer of 2008.
In November of 2008 Eurosport decided to open stand alone Skechers brand stores, after successfully launching this American brand. Today Eurosport boasts three Skechers brand stores.
The Point Shopping Mall was opened in 2010 where Eurosport own four brand-stores including Adidas Performance Brand Store, Skechers Brand Store and an Adidas Originals Brand Store.
